Housing for Homeless - Not Billionaires!

  • Hudson Yards Hudson Yards New York, NY, 10001 United States (map)

Anyone with a CityFHEPS voucher can confirm, the voucher payment standard is insultingly low for those expected to use the program to find housing and exit the shelter system. We have been fighting to increase voucher rates, and need to support Intro 146, a bill that will increase CityFHEPS vouchers to market rate. We need this bill to pass so New Yorkers with vouchers have a real chance to find housing.

We are rallying in support of Intro 146 on Tuesday, October 27th at 12PM in front of "The Vessel" at Hudson Yards. Hudson Yards has been dubbed a “playground for billionaires” and was built using $6 billion of taxpayer money. Meanwhile, the city says they don’t have enough money to increase vouchers. If the Mayor can subsidize housing for billionaires, why can’t he increase vouchers for homeless New Yorkers.

Hudson Yards is at 34th Street in Manhattan between 10th and 11th Avenue. You can take the 7 to Hudson Yards or the ACE to Penn Station. For more information, please call 917.456.8133.
