City Council Hearing

Organize for Change

Legislation can fix some of our biggest problems around housing vouchers in NYC. Our elected officials need to hear from the public if they are going to take these issues seriously.

The New York City Council will hold a remote hearing on the following bills Tuesday, September 15th at 10AM. There will be an opportunity for the public to testify via zoom :

T2020-6472 - Oversight - Rental Assistance and Source of Income Discrimination.

Int 0146-2018 (On VALUE in Housing platform) - A Local Law to increase CityFHEPS vouchers to fair market rent and make the vouchers permanent as long as someone is eligble.

Int 1020-2018 - A Local Law to require the Department of Homeless Services and the Human Resources Administration to track and report certain data regarding rental assistance programs.

Int 1339-2019 (On VALUE in Housing platform) - A Local Law to provide information about lawful source of income discrimination to city rental assistance applicants

Int 2018-2020 - A Local Law to require the department of social services to provide domestic violence services at all shelters

Int 2047-2020 - A Local Law to prohibiting housing discrimination on the basis of arrest or criminal record
